Who Is He?
A teacher one day asked their students, do you believe in Jesus? To which
the students replied, “YES!” The teacher asked, Is there good, bad, evil,
hatred, war, abortion, sin, illness, death, unfairness in this world? The
students replied, “YES.” The teacher asked, are you good or evil? The
students replied “We’re good, but because of Adam we are born with the
temptation of evil within us.”
The teacher asked, If Jesus is real then why did a family member of mine
die as a baby and why is my parent confused and unable to recognize me?
The students were silent then one student spoke up saying, I don’t know
why babies die or people who make a difference in our lives get ill and or
die while some people who are not nice to people let alone animals live.
But I believe that God knew us before we were conceived in our mother’s
womb and had a plan for our lives. I do believe that God uses us in His
way, to reach out to others. Maybe babies die and people we love die, for
they are our angels to teach us to be nice to each other and if you love
someone to let them know.
The teacher asked who made Satan? Another student replied, According
to the Bible in the Book of Isaiah 14:12-20, the devil is a fallen angel. The
teacher replied, so is the devil good? The students replied, “NO!” The
teacher asked do you believe in Jesus Christ? The students replied, “YES!”
The teacher asked, have you seen, tasted, smelled spoke with and heard
Jesus personally? students replied, no. The teacher asked; YET YOU
STILL BELEIVE? The students replied, YES, and one student replied, That
Is called faith to which the teacher replied, FAITH…AND HOW DO YOU
EXPLAIN FAITH? Calmly the same student who stated they believe, asked
their classmates, does anyone here believe our teacher has a brain? To
which the classmates replied, yes. Has anyone here ever seen, touched,
smelled, tasted, or spoken directly to our teachers mind to which the
classmates replied, “NO!” The student turned to their teacher and asked,
“If my classmates believe you have a brain but yet state that they have
never seen, touched, smelled, tasted or spoken directly to your brain then
how do we know it is real? The teacher swallowed and replied; let’s take a
break for about twenty minutes.
We have celebrated the birth of the baby Jesus born in a manger to a virgin
named Mary and the Son of God. We have mourned over Jesus last days
on this earth as we know life in the sin of the flesh. The Last Supper, the
trial and mockery of Jesus, the journey carrying that heavy old wooden
cross to Calvary while being spit upon, hit, called names. Left to die a
gruesome death and three days later, Jesus rose from the dead and thus
we have the miracle of salvation offered unto everyone.
Yet the question has been asked, Who Is He? The Bible tells us about
who Jesus is in the Book of John: 10:11-13,
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his
life for the sheep. He who is a hireling (Hireling: a hired hand)
and not a shepherd, whose own sheep are not, sees the wolf
coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches
them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hireling and
cares nothing for the sheep.
Yes, Jesus was God in the flesh walking upon this earth. Yes, Jesus is
King of Kings, Lord of Lords and for those who have a personal
relationship with Jesus he is not Jesus Christ. He is Jesus Christ, my
Lord and Savior.
But have you ever thought what Jesus experienced in the flesh, in His
daily life here on earth?
Think about it, Jesus was a human being, who just like you and I
experienced tiredness, John 4:5-6
So Jesus came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar near the
field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was
there, and so Jesus tired as he was with His journey sat down
beside the well. It was about the sixth hour.
Jesus experienced and initiated human understanding as in the Book of
John, John 8:3-11, when the Pharisee’s confronted Jesus with the woman
caught in adultery, to set Jesus up Jesus felt sorry for the woman. Jesus
felt that something had to be done for the Pharisee’s to understand who
they are. Thus Jesus said unto the Pharisee’s. “If anyone here has not
sinned, they may cast the first stone.
Jesus experienced John 11:35, Jesus wept and Jesus experienced love,
John 11:36, So the Jews said, see how Jesus loved Lazarus.
Jesus experienced humbleness, John 13:5,
Then Jesus poured water into a basin, and began to wash the
disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel he had girded
around His waist.
Jesus experienced betrayal of friendship, John 13:21,
When Jesus had thus spoken, he was troubled in spirit and
testified, “Truly, truly I say to you, one of you will betray me.
Jesus experienced disappointment, John 14:9,
Jesus said to Philip, Have I been with you so long, and yet
you do not know me?
Jesus experienced asking those whom he loved to know of His
impending death and Jesus experienced death, John 19:30
When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, “It is
finished;” and Jesus bowed his head and gave up his
spirit.
Jesus experienced being laid in His final resting-place here on earth.
John 19:42,
So because of the Jewish holiday of Preparation, as the
tomb was close at hand they laid Jesus there.
Just as we have experienced life our Lord and Savior experienced life here
on earth and for that reason I love Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
That is why when we say the 23rd Psalm we should say it with the peace of
God within us. Peace in knowing that if no one else in this world
understands where we are God does for God has experienced it first hand.
For in our lives the mind’s highest good is the knowledge of God, and the
mind’s highest virtue is to know God for he is the reason.
Life is a mystery to the self-enlightened eye. Reality is non-existent in the
midst of Satin’s lies. There’s no reason for existence if His word is not
applied and everything means nothing till He abides in you. He’s the
reason for living; He’s the hope for life beyond the grave. He’s the answer
you are searching for. The peace that you crave, He’s the reason for living
and He’s calling out your name. When you find Him you’ll never be the
same. Life is a vapor when you see it through His eyes. Realities and
assurance in the warmth of Jesus light. We’ve got everything to live for
when His word becomes our guide. And our time here now has purpose till
he comes as in the night. He’s the reason for living; He’s the hope for life
beyond the grave. He’s the answer you’ve been searching for, the peace
that you crave. He’s the reason for living and He’s calling out your name.
When you find Him you’ll never be the same.
John 10: 14-18,
I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own knows
me, as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay
down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep, that are
not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my
voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd. For this
reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that
I may take it again. No one takes my life from me, but I lay it
down on my own accord. I have power to lay it down, and I
have power to take it again; this charge I have received from
my Father.
On this the 4th Sunday of Easter who is He in your life?
Let us pray in unison,
The Lord is my shepherd; he makes me lie down in green pastures. He
leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in paths
of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table
before me in the presence of my enemies; thou annointest
my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely goodness
and mercy shall follow me all the days of my
life; and I shall dwell in the house
of the Lord forever.
Amen
