Bee Patient

I remember several years ago, a friend asked
me to draw a cartoon of a bee, with the words:
"Bee Patient". I did a little cartooning then, so
I drew a bumble bee, riding a snail, with those
words in a bubble. He hung the picture near
his work station as a gentle reminder to his
boss that he'd been doing his job very well for
several years before, and...it was probably a
good idea to be patient while he did his job.
That's good advice. Sometimes, a good
leader should sit back and allow people to
do the things they are good at.

That cartoon applies to all of us. I chuckle as
I remember the riddle: "What does a snail
riding on a turtle's back say? Wheeee!" We
all get a little impatient, waiting to be shown
God's will for us. Sometimes, our impatience
let's us ignore the answers he has sent.

We believe God will answer us. We just want
the answer right now. "God give me patience
...BUT HURRY!". There are things we want to
do, things we want answers to, that require
us to wait for God's answer.

Imagine how Job must have wondered how
long it would take for God to reveal His will to
him.   Our task is to seek God's will.   Being
patient is the hardest part of that. We may not
find anything revealed to us, till we've made a
few mistakes along the way.   That's not His
doing, it's our impatience that does it. No one
can do it for us.   Others can only help us
along the way.

I suggest we Ride with the snail...Be patient.
