Our mission is not to stay within our walls, but to take God's love and teachings out into the world.


The Port Byron Methodist Church sets on several acres of land on the edge of Port Byron. Several housing additions now surround the church and we try to make it a community center for Scouting activities, 4-H groups, Township meetings, local recreation association meetings, etc. We strive to serve God by reaching out to the community. We have a mission room that is used for putting Christmas and Thanksgiving baskets together for the needy. This project is accomplished by the Riverdale Unit #100 school nurse and lots of helpers. Also, when needed, clothes are sorted in this room, again for those in need. We work with Church of the Cross to provide towels and other necessities for men's and women's shelters. We have many active groups including choir, United Methodist Women, Bible School, Prayer Partner Ministries, Sunday School, and take part in Bible studies and other Christian Education classes. We enjoy the opportunity of worship and working with all our Twin Rivers Cooperative Parish friends.

As members of Christ's holy church we agree to help bring up children to know Jesus Christ. That means we provide the facilities, teachers, and opportunities for Christian Eduction all year long. God has richly blessed this weekly ministry. Stop by and eat with us, stay to enjoy the action, leave having seen God's hope in the children.

Did you know there is someone praying for you? A member of our Prayer Ministers is praying for the congregation each day. They also pray before church, during church, with the pastor before the Sunday Service, and give the offering prayer. Driving Directions

Route 84N runs through Port Byron. Travelling north on Rt.84 turn right on 94th Ave.N or Agnes Street and also known as the Port Byron-Hillsdale Road. Travelling south on Rt.84 turn left on 94th Ave. or Agnes Road. There is a sign posted on the north side of 94th Ave. The church is on the left approximtely 2 miles from Route 84. If you are coming from the East, Hillsdale area or I-88 (take the Port Byron,Hillsdale Exit), drive west on 94th Ave. approximately 5 miles and the church is on the right.
