| The building committee has been making
progress toward definition of the design and remodeling of the church.
A soup supper was held on March 16 after the 10:30 service and Mike Wnek gave a very good presentation of the proposed design plan and history thus far. The straw poll vote of people there was to go ahead with the plan. At next months administrative board meeting, I will tell the board our plan for the pledge drive for the first 1/3 (about $326,000) that we feel we need before we can start the architect design phase. If the board finds the plan sound, we will start the pledge drive, "Renewing the Commitment", for 2 months. When we have our goal, we can have the architect start meeting with the congregation and make detailed drawings. The building fund now has about $80,000. The 2nd 1/3 would be needed by the end of construction. And the last 1/3 mortgaged. We plan to be showing the movie "Lilies of the Field" and other activities during the pledge drive. |
| The building committee has reviewed various plans and recommendations for remodeling the church so it will be adequate for the future. The recommendation of the committee is to pursue the plan below. |

The current concept keeps the existing sanctuary and office and rebuilds everything in between. It will double the size of the fellowship hall; provide new kitchen and restroom facilities, while the sanctuary capacity will be increased by widening the existing structure with new aisles.
The estimated cost of the entire project is $977,777. This means 1/3 must be donated and in the bank to start the architect design phase, 1/3 must be pledged for the end of construction, and 1/3 can then be mortgaged. Currently the building fund stands at $80,000, which means that $246 thousand will be needed to get us over the first hurdle.
