POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Child Care Worker
Grace United Methodist Church, Topeka, KS, is accepting applications for part-time Child Care Workers. Work hours will be determined on an as-needed basis. Typical need is no more than 3 hours weekly and during evening church activities. Applicants may be required to submit to a background check prior to employment. Within 60 days of hire, individuals must be certified by the United Methodist Church to work with children.

RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for providing child care for church attendees’ children during church-related events. Responsibilities include maintaining the safety of the children in the nursery, ensuring the nursery area is cleaned at the end of the event, and tending to children’s bathroom needs. Children could range in age from infant to upper elementary. A detailed job description is available upon request at the Church Office.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • Prior child care experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and exercise sound judgment.
  • Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Preferred:
  • Child CPR certification
