Announcements

·                 Volunteer opportunities still available--and urgently needed--to help with the combined Sunday School held at the Reformed Church at 9:15 on Sunday mornings.  The primary need is for classroom assistants so that Safe Sanctuary is maintained.  This work will make our church more visible in what is a combined endeavor and will also help us prepare for developing our own independent Sunday School.  See Bethany if you are interested.

·                 Volunteer Recognition Luncheon will be held at noon on Saturday, November 14 at the Reformed Church of Port Ewen, as a joint project of Sunday Church School and the Mission and Outreach Committee of the Reformed Church. The SCS would like us to contribute some side dishes for the luncheon (no desserts) to be brought to the church by 11:30 A.M.  PLEASE support our combined Sunday Church School.   

·                 Charge Conference will be held on Sunday, November 15.  Committee reports are due by today for Ad Council, Trustees, Finance & Missions.  A pot luck lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall after worship, then the Charge Conference will meet upstairs in the Rifton Room.  Please sign up to bring a dish to share. Everyone in the congregation is encouraged to attend.

·                 The Christmas Bazaar  will be held on Saturday, November 21.   Desserts, bake sale items and help the day of the bazaar are all needed. Please sign up on the sheets in the rear of the sanctuary. See Dorothy with questions.

·                 Operation Christmas Child – Please pack a shoebox for a child in need this Christmas. Information leaflets for how to pack boxes is available in the narthex. We will bless the boxes on Sunday, November 22.

·                 Our combined Thanksgiving Service will be held on Tuesday, November 24 at 7:30 P.M. in our church.

·                 The Hanging of the Greens will take place Sunday, November 29, the first Sunday in Advent.

·                 Change for Chicks – Please give your loose change to help a family in an impoverished area of the world. A dozen chicks or geese will provide both food and income. Let’s see if we can’t send at least a couple of Flocks for Families in need (only $14 each).

·                 Good Will Offering – The family of one of our Port Ewen fire fighters, is in desperate straits due to medical bills for his mother’s cancer treatments.  There will be a plate by the door of the church for offerings so that the family will know they have not been forgotten.

·                 Any knitters willing to undertake a small Christmas project for the Children’s Home, please see Pastor.
