Trinity’s
Senior Pastor, Rev. Eddie Smotherman, has served the Trinity
congregation since
2001. “Trinity’s mission
statement is
summarized by three important words – Love, Grow, and
Serve,” Rev. Smotherman
says. Rev.
Smotherman is a native of Eagleville,
and a 1969 graduate of Eagleville
High School. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State
University, he completed the Candler School of Theology Course of Study
at
Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1984, and has been an ordained
minister
of the United Methodist Church since 1986.

Chris Lee
has served as Trinity’s Director of Youth Ministries since 2007. Chris is a native of Sevierville and a
2005 graduate of Tennessee
Wesleyan College,
where he studied church vocations, youth ministry, and music. He is a
singer
and songwriter, and served previously as a Worship Leader at Keith Memorial
United Methodist Church
in Athens. Chris’s wife, Anna, is currently pursuing a
Master of Divinity at Vanderbilt
University. Trinity’s active and
growing CORE Youth
Ministries program for grades 7-12
worships, serves, and takes part in a variety activities together, and
includes
youth from schools across Murfreesboro.

As Director
of Christian Education, Melissa Stewart focuses on providing a
well-rounded
program of educational and fellowship activities for Trinity’s
children,
families, and older adults. Melissa is a
2008 Cum Laude graduate of Martin Methodist
College
in Pulaski, with a B.S. in Christian Education. As a graduate of Hendersonville High
School, Melissa received the Church
Leaders Scholarship. During college, she
served as Youth Coordinator for First Presbyterian Church in Pulaski,
and
completed an internship in Christian Education at Woodland United
Methodist
church in Rock Hill,
SC. While
at Martin, Melissa served as Vice President of the Student Christian
Association, a member of the Leadership Development Team, an active
member of
the college choir, a volunteer in the College Chapel, the Drama Club,
the
college's environmental group, "The Green Team," and a very active
work/study volunteer in the Center for Church Leadership.

Travis
Kornegay comes to Trinity from First UnitedMethodist Church
in Greeley, Colorado,
and now leads Trinity’s active music program which includes
choirs for adults,
youth, and children, as well as a praise and worship band.
2009 marks Travis’s15th year in
church music ministry as conductor, pianist, or paid soloist. He is a
native of North Carolina
and holds degrees from MethodistUniversity in Fayetteville,
North Carolina and Kansas State University where he studied vocal performance and
vocal
pedagogy. He began doctoral
studies at University of
Northern Colorado.
He is an active
tenor recitalist, soloist, and choral conductor. His past
engagements
includes Monostatos in Mozart's Magic Flute,
Sportin’ Life from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, Sage in
Hindemith’s Hin und
Zuruck, Messiah solos with the Manhattan Kansas Chamber Chorale as well as
conducting
Mozart’s Requiem and Handel's Messiah.
