Workshop on Relational Evangelism was offered at Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida on October 2-4, 2008.  Pastor Alejandro Hinojosa was the host of the event, Rev. Enrique Gonzalez from El Mesias UMC of Elgin, Il. was the preacher and workshop leader.  Pastor Enrique Hernandez led a workshop on how to reach out to others and communicate the Good News!

A Children’s Ministries Workshop was offered on September 27, 2008 at the Hispanic Faith Community at McMinnville First UMC.  Pastor Francisco Gale and his wife Ivett hosted the event.  Mrs. Laura Ibarra de Hernandez was the resource leader.

The Cumberland Hispanic Fellowship/Faith Community offered a Festival to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on October 11, 2008 as part of their outreach and ministry of presence in the community.  Pastor Eliud and Janet Hernandez hosted the event.

ESL Classes at Hillcrest UMC in Nashville has 85 adults and 57 children registered on Wednesday evenings this Fall.  While parents study English, their children join the congregation’s Children’s Choirs and Bible Story Time…and also come to Family Fun Night, Fall Festival, Indoor Soccer, and the Fall Grill-Off.  Of significance is that Hispanic/Latino students are now inviting others—including co-workers from other countries—to Hillcrest!

Murfreesboro’s First United Methodist Church Hispanic Ministries celebrates Thanksgiving.  On November 2009,the ESL students around the tables talked about how God is working in their lives and about those things for which they are thankful. Pastor Carlos Uroza hosted the celebration.
