-- THANK YOU --
|
|
Memorial's Mission Committee wants to thank you for all the great things our congregation was able to be a part of in 2003, because of your generous support.
| |
|
With our 4th Sunday Offerings we helped support UMCOR, Lifeline, Salvation Army, Council on Domestic Abuse, Mexico Mission Trip sponsored by United Ministries Center of ISU, Vigo County Group Ministry of the Terre Haute District UMC, Operation Classroom, Habitat for Humanity, and Africa University Dormitory Project.
| |
|
With our Lenten and Advent Offerings we were able to help support The Kirby/Lindsteadt Missionaries in Hungry, Ryves Hall PreSchool Program, Atsina Free Medical Clinic in Africa, Lebanon Children's Home, and Evansville Youth Home.
| |
|
Now does that make you feel good about what we are doing to help others, well this is not all. With the Summer Missioner Program we helped college students do community service projects in Terre Haute for 1000+ accumulated hours.
| |
|
You have volunteered hours with our Memorial Preschool, at Ryves Hall PreSchool, working on Habitat Houses, pantry, at the hospital, and in the public schools. This is not taking into account what the UMW is doing for missions.
| |
|
The Missions Committee is thankful that they plan and represent such a wonderful supportive congregation.

| Missionaries in Hungary -- Robin and Carolyn Kirby
The Kirby's have, since 1996, been in service for Christ in Budapest.
They have three children; Mallory, Megan, and Ben.
Carolyn, the daughter of Bill and Marilyn Lindstaedt, is a busy housewife and mother, as well as a great Christian example to everyone.
Robin is not employed with the school system, but finds most of his ministry is in the schools introducing students and teachers to Christ.

| Red Bird Mission in the Heart of Appalachia
The Red Bird Mission of the United Methodist Church is a witness for Jesus Christ in the heart of Appalachia, inviting all people to discover and reach their Godgiven potential through spiritual growth, health care, education, economic development, agricultural ministries and community outreach.

| Ryves Hall Preschool for Homeless Children
Ryves Hall Preschool is a local mission for children 3-6 years of age who are from unstable homes, most often homeless.
These children are fed two meals a day, often the only food they have all day long, offered social, pre-reading, pre-math opportunities, and a loving Christian atmosphere.
It is a warm safe place to be from 8 am to noon daily.
Memorial has been involved with financial and personal support of this preschool since 1996.
The new teaching supplies and leaming tools our church provides are the only new things the teachers may have to do their work.
