Pastor’s Message from Dave Summers

Welcome to First United Methodist!  We are pleased to have you with us and thank you for visiting our church.  We want you to experience with us the power and presence of God’s Spirit that can renew your life and let faith grow in your heart, soul and mind.  Wherever you may be on your spiritual journey, we invite you to find a spiritual home with us. As Paul writes in Ephesians 3:16, we pray “that you may be strengthened in you inner being with power through God’s Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith as you are being rooted and grounded in love…”

Please know there is a place for you at Tempe First. We offer many opportunities to learn and grow in faith and to discover God’s love.  Our website describes many of these opportunities and I look forward to speaking with you about how we can grow together to know the fullness of God.  Our church is committed in helping you to grow in your faith, build healthy relationships and make an impact in our world by serving God. Jesus said “I have come that you might have life abundant.”  We want to share with you the abundance of God’s love and the gift of faith.  We welcome you with open arms!
