The Southwest Texas Conference United Methodist Men are committed to support the men of every local church in this conference. For us to support you we need your request for assistance.

The secular world around us is constantly eroding the impact of the gospel message and life in this world. We want to help make a difference.

The General Commission on United Methodist Men, in Nashville, is providing programs and material. Your Jurisdiction and Conference Steering Committees have leadership-training programs for training local church leaders. The District Steering Committees are preparing themselves to be SERVANT leaders to bring these resources to the local church.

You are being invited, in a renewed effort, to become involved in the Men's Ministry
here in the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church.

It is important to the Men's Ministry, across the country that you "get involved". The ministry needs you spiritually to be in prayer as well as your physical help. The ministry also needs financial support to cover the expenses of the material and training.

We are not asking for anything extra!!
" We ask your financial support for the Men's Ministry in the form of Annually Chartering your local church and
" Individually invest in the Men's Ministry through EMS for individuals. Both are an investment in Men's Ministry.
" EMS is not just a membership - it is a ministry! Men can and do make a difference in the church and the world when they allow themselves to be led by God through the Holy Spirit with Jesus Christ as their role model.

Chartering is only $65 per year. Include it in your annual church budget
if it isn't available somewhere else. EMS is $30 a year.

The Life Member Award and The Society of John Wesley Fellows Award are excellent to recognize exemplar service of men in your local church or district and help fund the General Commission.

The impact of the Men's programs are in these areas:

  1. Leadership Training which trains how to start and operate a local church Men's organization.
  2. Discipling - Learning to Be a friend, Make a friend and Bring a friend to Christ.
  3. Learning to develop better relationships with wife, children, family and friends through the TQuest program.
  4. Getting involved in Mission effort through
    • St. Andrew Society to eliminate hunger,
    • The Hope for Hearing providing hearing aides to children,
    • Supporting the Living Prayer Line
    • Supporting the civic youth organizations,ie, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and 4-H.

It is a ministry not just a membership and the ministry needs your support.

Your Conference Steering Committee and District Presidents and their committees stand ready to assist you and the local church Men's Group "Any Time, Any Where"!

Thank you very much,

In Christ's Service,
Ralph Eckwall, Past SWTC UMM President
