  THE GOSPEL FEST

The Gospel Fest was enjoyed by many of our friends and members on Sunday, Feb. 12th.   However, Summit has had similar Fests before, but nothing like Sunday Evening with a great crowd and choir loft completely full.  Many smiles and clapping were heard and seen throughout the evening.  Thanks to a devoted leader of our wonderful choir, Director Sam Page, our friends, our choir and the talented pianist Antionette Nesbitt, and George Bender for being in charge of our sound system. We had a wonderful Gospel Fest!  A lot of work and preparation were put into such an outstanding performance.

The trio of James and Kristie Hargus and Sam Page of "Where Could I Go" and Precious Memories" made one try to think, "What would we do?"

A sick child didn't prevent Brenda Smith from not belting out a beautiful song that she and her husband had planned to sing as a duet.

Summit Choir, under the leadership of our Choir Director performed outstandlingly in all hymns that they sang, and we all enjoyed the congregation singing as well.

The beautiful music during the offertory was enjoyed by all with Charlie Head playing his fabulous saxophone and Robert Miller at the piano.

Special appreciation goes to the impressive performance on the clarinet done by the musically talented duo of Charlie Head and Robert Miller on the piano.  God has surely given these two a talent they are willing to share.  An enthusiastic standing ovation for their performance was provided by the congregation.

Our own (Summit) Praise Team were marvelous as usual, consisting of Ben & Sandy Craig and Robert Miller.

Danny Barrett, Sam Page, Jack Stevens and Russell Cooner; you remember, this group was formerly the "Deliverance".  The only difference — Bubba Stevens sang with this group and his dad took his place.   These men are still great!

Thanks to all who performed, all who were in attendance, and again, thank you Sam Page for your hard work and concern!!
