Call Statement
As a people of God placed by God in a local community, Summerfield United Methodist Church is called to, “Go make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:18). Thus, we are called by God to, “Get up and stand on our feet, and be servants and witnesses of what we have seen and experienced through the Lord Jesus Christ,” (taken from Acts 26:16).
Vision Statement
Through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we will be empowered to become more effective in making disciples of Jesus Christ. Thereby, using the gifts and talents Jesus gave us, “To prepare and equip God’s consecrated people for works of service, so that the body of Christ, the church, may be built up until we all attain unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God and the fullness of Christ,” (taken from Ephesians 4:12-13).
Mission Statement
To release the transforming power of the gospel through renewed spiritual emphasis in ministries of prayer, study, hospitality, and evangelism, so that disciples of Jesus Christ can be made and nurtured, thus seeking the fulfillment of God’s reign and realm in the world, to the glory of God.
