From the congregation and Pastor Sherry:
 If you’ve seen pictures of our facility or perhaps driven by the corner of
1st Street & Old Main in
Newton, you’ve no doubt seen our beautiful stately
building. However, to really appreciate the fullness of who we are at
Salem, we welcome you to come inside! It is the people of
Salem UMC that make this such an exciting and vital church. We are a growing
congregation of all ages who are seeking to live in the fullness of who God
created us to be. Sunday morning worship is a celebration of God’s love and
grace experienced through a blending of both traditional and contemporary
worship. Sunday School classes offer a wide range of topics and learning
experiences for children, youth, and adults of all ages. Because our Christian
faith calls us to more than just developing our own spirituality, we are also a
congregation that believes in the importance of Christian service in the world.
Salem UMC is a designated Red Cross Shelter, serves the
Newton
community and is active in the missions & ministry of the
United
Methodist Church
all over the world.
Come join us for worship,
Sunday School or a small group
study, play in our family life center during our fellowship events, or just get
to meet other people who are dealing with life (just like you) and trying to
live their Christian faith. We pray that we’ll have an opportunity to greet you
