Reconciling Congregation Statement
|
"In response to our calling to share the message of God's unconditional love,
we welcome persons of all ages, genders, races, ethnic backgrounds, sexual
orientations, socioeconomic status, physical and mental abilities as full
participants in our community of faith. In so believing, we recognize that the
Church's position on homosexuality has caused pain to many people. Therefore,
we extend a special invitation to gays, lesbians, and their families to join us
in building a community that reflects God's love for all."
We are called to share the message of God's
unconditional love through believing,
proclaiming and serving. In so doing, we welcome others into
Christ's Holy Church.

Hosted by our Membership & Evangelism Committee
You Are Invited!
The Agape/Searchers adult Sunday School Class studies a wide variety of topics related to church and faith. Our sources are primarily books and articles by contemporary scholars and journalists. Among our recent studies:
C.S. Lewis, The Great Divorce
Jim Wallace, God's Politics
Bishop John Shelby Spong, articles from his blog
Huston, Smith, The Wisdom of Faith (video series)
The leadership for our studies is shared. Sometimes one person does an entire book/series, and sometimes the leadership for that study is rotated among class members.
The origin of the name Agape/Searchers is shrouded in the mists of time. We think we once combined two different classes with those names, but nobody remembers who was an Agape and who was a Searcher.
We meet in the chapel during the Sunday School hour, rain or shine. Come on in.
Thank You!

the occasion for the picture. We love getting pictures - especially from the past, but
please identify them.
We are also waiting for members to send us your favorite stories or memories of
St. Stephen for the book we hope to publish about the history of St. Stephen. We have
heard from many of the ex-members - the stories were great! Now please - let's hear
