Membership
It is not difficult to become an official member of St. Paul's. We hold classes and receive new members at least once a year. If you are interested in joining a membership class, talk with the pastor, or call or e-mail us.
We ask only that you be serious about committing to the mission and ministry of our church. Your commitment includes supporting the church with your prayers, your presence, your gifts and your service. That means:
Attending worship every week that you are able, or worshiping in some other way if you can't attend St. Paul's.
Joining a small group, serving on a committee, or helping with an event at least once a year.
Committing to study the scriptures and grow in your faith through a Sunday School class, Bible study, or other educational activity.
Giving a portion of your income to the church on a regular weekly or monthly basis.

Connect Celebrate Grow Serve Give
The mission of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church is to:
- Connect people to God through Jesus Christ.
- Celebrate in worship to God.
- Grow as disciples, encouraging one another in prayer and study.
- Be involved in service to one another, our community, and the world.
- Give to further the kingdom of God and the proclamation of the gospel.
- Connect with one another in caring and sharing relationships.
The mission statement is based on several sources.
1. Making Disciples
The mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples for Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19, United Methodist Book of Discipline ¶120). This mission is expressed in our first point, connecting people to God through
Jesus Christ. This is the most clear command that Jesus gave us, to go into the world and make disciples.
2. The Heart of Christian Ministry
The heart of Christian ministry is Christ’s outreaching love. We are called to a common life of gratitude and devotion, witness and service, celebration and discipleship (Discipline ¶125). This is all part of making disciples: working together in worship and service and caring
for each other and for the whole world.
3. Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service
When we join the church, part of the United Methodist membership vows include being loyal to the church and upholding it by “our prayers, our presence, our gifts, and our service” (Discipline ¶216). These four tasks are essential parts of the mission of each local church.
By combining these sources, our a mission statement is based on what we believe Jesus calls us to do.
We hope and expect that each and every member of St. Paul’s will uphold our mission in order to develop and maintain a truly personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
