St. Paul’s Memorial United Methodist Church |

God bless you in your plans for marriage! St. Paul’s Memorial UMC, an historic church built by Clem Studebaker of the famous Studebaker family of South Bend, welcome your inquiry into celebrating your marriage ceremony within our sacred walls. The richness of architecture and beauty of our sanctuary invite a rich environment for this solemn and sacred ceremony. Joining your lives together in Holy Matrimony is a covenant established by two people in the presence of God and in the community of a Christian congregation. Because of the nature of your promise to each other in this Christian church, we invite you to consider making St. Paul’s your church home and your church family. As a congregation that feels strongly about protecting the sanctity of marriage through the help and support of the Christian community, your decision to be married at St. Paul’s implies our commitment to you as your church family in upholding your marriage through our prayers, our love, and our support. Commitment is never one sided however, and we expect your active commitment to St. Paul’s with your prayers, presence, and active participation in the St. Paul’s church family and worship. When You Decide to Marry at St. Paul’s Call the church office (on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm) to arrange a meeting with the pastor to confirm the date with a $150.00 non-refundable deposit. Our wedding calendar fills rapidly because of our beautiful and historic sanctuary. Three pre-marital sessions with the pastor are required before the wedding ceremony can take place. The sanctuary of St. Paul’s is the place of choice for the wedding ceremony. However, if your wedding guest list is less than 35 people, our chapel is a lovely place in which to be married. The “Bride’s Room” and our large, Ladies restroom are available for the bride’s party to use to dress. The groom and his party normally dress at home. The traditional Methodist Wedding ceremony is used at St. Paul’s. Substitutions will need to be discussed with the pastor.
