We have gone to White Oak Tenn for Mission trips to repair homes, build ramps, build decks and put up vinyl siding. This has been very rewarding for those who go. This year White Oak needed a new sign for the center and we had one made and a few of us went up there August 8th and put the sign up. WE also took up medical supplies, school supplies, knit hats, gloves, clothes and shoes for those at the settlement.

If you would like to know more about the settlement check them out at www.hendesonsettlement.com.

Christmas is coming and we will again fill shoe boxes with toys etc. for the children at the settlement every year. This year we will have 7 and 8 year old children to provide toys for.

We have a covenant with Gary and Vickie Stevens at Henderson.  We help support them at the settlement besides the other support we do there. They have given up good jobs to go there and work for God.

Last winter we helped winterize home with CASA here in Huntsville.

Our church also has a food pantry called Carolyn's Cupboard. Churches in Huntsville, business and members donate the food for the pantry.  We are the only pantry with baby items in Huntsville. So far this year Jan. 1st to July 1st we have helped 439 families of which are 241 men, 404 women and 673 children. If you need assistance or know of someone who does contact the Food Bank at 534-2424.  If you would like to be a volunteer please contact Bettye William at 536-0988   or the church at 539-4901

We also collect school supplies for Ridgecrest Elem. and Morris Elem. schools.  There is a list of supplies needed in the narthex at church.  Delana Burdette is in charge of this project and does and excellent job. Morris Elem is in need of supplies for the clinic. We will begin to collect clinic supplies begining August 16th, 2009

We also have White Christmas for the Methodist Children's home each Christmas. Jackie Morgan and Leila Reed do an excellent job with this each year.

As you see we are busy with mission work at our church, which we love to do. To help with the cost of our mission work church members save aluminum cans and used ink cartridges which we sell to raise the money for our project along with private donations.
