ST. PAUL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Sanctuary constructed in 1988

St. Paul United Methodist Church had a humble beginning in 1887...as a Sunday School extension class from the Fifth Street Methodist Episcopal Church.  That Sunday School class grew until, in 1888, St. Paul Methodist Episcopal Church was born.  The location of the first building, a white, wooden structure was at 415 Dolman Street.  The second location was built with faith and a debt of $26,000, a red brick sanctuary at 624 Highland.  On November 26, 1988 St. Paul broke ground on a four acre tract of ground at Interstate 29 and Highway 71.  This 9,300 square foot building cost $314,000 to build.

Following are pictures of the first two St. Paul buildings.  These are pictures of paintings by St. Paul member, Delcie Reynolds.
