Craft Group meets every Tuesday evening at 8:00 in the church Kitchen or the Parlor. Everyone is welcome. No skills needed, just come and learn. Knitting, silk painting, wreaths, greeting cards, etc.
Prayer Shawl Ministry - If you enjoy knitting, join the ladies at the craft group on Tuesday evenings. If you don't know how to knit, someone will teach you. We knit shawls with prayers for comfort and healing to give to those who are sick, grieving, lonely, or facing a change. The knitters/givers find new blessings too. Rhythms All Around (Fundraising Concert) - Saturday, December 15 at 3:30 PM, at St. Mark's. Mary Knysh, professional musician, multi-instrumentalist and recording artist of world music for children, will be presenting "Rhythms All Around" at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Rockville Centre. Incorporating music improvisation, drumming and fun, Mary Knysh's "Rhythms All Around", which is really more of a family jam session than a traditional sit-down event, brings out the unique musician in all participants, regardless of age. All proceeds from the concert will go to benefit St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children, and lap babies are free. Empire Finch & Canary Club - a small (but growing) group of canary and finch enthusiasts, dedicated to the breeding and showing of our birds. Our meetings are very informal with plenty of time for discussion of birds and methods of breeding and showing. Piano Recitals - Judy Deschler, piano instructor, is a native Hungarian who studied piano in Budapest, Hungary and Vienna, Austria. She holds a BM and MM from Manhattan School of Music, New York. Presently Mrs. Deschler is the music director at St. Aloysius Church in Great Neck. She also teaches Piano to all age groups. Each year, her studio presents a recital at St. Mark's.
