St. Mark's United Methodist Church was formed in 1963 as a "mission church" within the Ohio Southeast Conference of the former Evangelical United Brethren denomination. With the guidance and support of many older, more established congregations, the Rev. Loyd W. Tuttle (1963-1966) led worship, first in the church parsonage on Stiles Avenue, and, later, at Stiles Elementary School.

Dr. G. Weir Hartman (1966-1972) led the congregation in construction of the unique church building at 5200 Sullivant Avenue. Bishop F. Gerald Ensley consecrated the building in February, 1969.

Our congregation continued to grow under the guidance of Rev. Daniel Kiger (1972-1977).

In 1977 Rev. Orville Cruea (1977-1986) was appointed our new minister. With the added growth of our community, the church felt it was time for expansion as well. In 1984 our Educational Unit was consecrated.

Rev. Dale Bumgardner (1986-1991) led the congregation starting in 1986.

In 1991, Rev. Lou Williams (1991-1993) was appointed as our new minister. She led the congregation until she was appointed to a district position in November of 1993.

Rev. Brian Green (1994-2001) joined as pastor in January of 1994. He was appointed to a congregation in Marion, Ohio in July of 2001.

Rev. Vijay Buck was appointed to St. Mark's in July 2001. She is presently serving as the pastor. St. Mark's is an active congregation, serving the needs of the community.  

Some of the current activities include the Cub Scout Pack 206, Boy Scout Troop 206, Westside Food Pantry and A Child's Garden (a preschool for children 18 months through 5/Pre-K).
