The members of St. Luke's UMW have worked hard through
the years to achieve our purpose. The original "Woman's Society of
Christian Service" was organized on December 8, 1941 with Mrs. Hazel Mabie
as it's first president. Early mission projects included helping the
American Red Cross and the wartime U.S.O. Current projects include
assisting Kingdom House, Epworth and Metro Ministry. Wherever there
has been a need in the church the women have been there, digging into their
purses to fund the projects and rolling up their sleeves to get the work
done.
