Scriptural preaching, sincere prayers and spirited singing, all grounded on the presence of the Living God in our midst is our goal and basis for ministry and worship. Opportunities for individual spiritual growth and family fellowship are important ingredients in the life of our congregation.

Rev. Navin Satyavrata is the Pastor of our Church, in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church and has been serving as our Pastor at St. John's United Methodist Church in Coal Township, Pennsylvania, since July 2006. He has also served as the Pastor of the Clearview United Methodist Church in Philadelphia.

He is a graduate of the Bombay University, India with a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and majored in Financial Accounting and Auditing. He worked as a Finance Manager before God called him into full time pastoral ministry in 1993 and thereafter he answered the call to the full time pastoral ministry in 1994.

He has a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from the Union Biblical Seminary, Pune, India accredited by the Asia Theological Association.

Since 1995 he has served as the full time Pastor at the Emmanuel Nissi Church and the United Basel Mission Churches in Bombay, India before God called him to serve in the United States of America.

In addtion to the Pastoral ministry, Rev. Navin Satyavrata is actively involved in the community. He is the Treasurer of the Shamokin Area Ministerium and the Vice President and Treasurer of Vision for Growth. He serves on the Northumberland County Systems of Care and the Northumberland County Gang Awareness Task Force. He also takes services in the High Rises for the elderly.

He is married to Cynthia for 20 years. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Science and majored in Chemistry from the Bombay University, India and has worked as an Analytical Chemist in a private company in Bombay, India. She works in a private firm at Bloomsburg, PA.

Rev. Navin Satyavrata and Cynthia have one son, Richard, aged 19 years, who graduated from the Shamokin Area High School in May 2007 at the age of 16. In May 2009, he graduated with an Associates Degree in Applied Science with Professional Pilot being his major from the Luzerne County Community College. He received the Private Pilot's License in July 2008, Instrument Rating Certification in October 2008 and the Commercial Pilot's License in August 2009. He has logged in over 200 flying hours. He is currently training for the Flight Instructor Certification. He is a Junior at the Marywood University, Scranton, PA pursuing his Bachelor's in Aviation Management with Commercial Aviation being his major.
