Youth Ministry & Fellowship
(Junior & Senior High School)

- Proverbs 22:6 -
"Train up a child in the way he/she should go,
and when he/she is old they will not turn from it."

St. John's Youth Ministry reaches out to Junior and Senior High students to help them share in God's word, to give themselves in service to Christ, and to care for one another.

The Youth Group’s mission is to help our young people grow in faith, to form a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to build close ties with family, peers and our church congregation. The group provides opportunities to experience the living God through study and discovery of the scriptures, and through the experience of congregational worship. Through this process our youth are encouraged to discover their God-given gifts and talents and to share the news of Christ with others in their home, community, nation, and even the world.

Junior and Senior High Youth perform local mission projects each summer. Senior High Youth participate in a Home Repair Work Camp each July. They also support a Compassion Child, and participate in the Outreach and Mission ministries of our church and of the Evangelism committee. They visit homebound members, serve locally and nationally in mission projects and join in special events to help stop hunger and poverty everywhere.

Our youth are involved in many areas at St. John’s. They are members of the Youth Choir, the Wesleyan Handbell Choir, the Acolytes and the Liturgists. Youth Sunday is celebrated each year in June and our Youth assume the full responsibility for leading both worship services. In 2008, the service will be held on June 8.

Each Sunday, the Youth attend the 9:15 am worship service followed by Sunday School at 11:00 am. The group meets regularly, every Sunday evening, to share an interactive curriculum and fun events. Please check the church calendar and the Echo for the latest Youth information.

To contact the Youth Ministry, please send an e-mail to stjohnsyouthgroup1@gmail.com or call the Church Office at 732.264.1236.
