St. James United Methodist Church
Vision Statement

Since the beginning of St. James in 1985, God has inspired us and given us visions and dreams of what is possible. We have seen them become reality. But we recognize that God's work is not finished, so we continue to dream.

We dream of a place where the hurting, the depressed, the frustrated and the searching can find love, acceptance, encouragement, hope, and guidance.

We dream of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the people of Goose Creek and surrounding communities.

We dream of people growing spiritually through Sunday School, small groups, Disciple Bible Study, care groups and spiritual formation groups.

We dream of every individual being equipped and participating in a significant ministry by discovering their God-given gifts and talents.

We dream of dynamic worship services that include a friendly atmosphere, inspirational music, faith stories and Bible-based sermons that challenge and lift us up. These services will communicate strength and grace, energize and inspire us, celebrate new life and blessings, look to the future and launch us into mission and action.

We dream of hundreds of individuals participating in outreach mission work in the Goose Creek area and throughout the world. Most of these individuals will be part of the St James congregation while others will be missionaries we support.

We dream of a place swarming with children and youth who are filled with excitement and participating in a variety of programs and activities. We dream this knowing the value of our children and knowing that they bring unique gifts, talents and insights.

We dream of a larger congregation with new facilities to meet their needs. These facilities include a new 500-seat sanctuary, expanded educational and fellowship space, ample parking, open accessibility, recreational facilities and a Family Life Center.

We believe, with confident assurance, that these dreams will become reality because they are inspired by God with Jesus Christ as our foundation.
