Children's Ministry at St. James

Sunday Mornings

The church is busy with classes for children on Sunday morning. We offer something for children beginning at age 3 through 6th grade. Click here for more information on the classes.

Nursery

Child care is available for babies and toddlers during all four worship services at both locations. Our very youngest are taken care of in a warm and loving environment.  Childcare is also available at many special activities, events, and meetings.

Vacation Bible School

One week each summer all children age three year old through 6th grade are invited to participate in a fun and exciting time of music, stories, crafts, recreation, science projects, snacks, and other great activities. The dates for this year’s fun and fantastic Vacation Bible School is July 27 - 31, 2009. The week ends with a Sunday morning celebration. Click here for more info and to register.

Children’s Ministries

We celebrate the young people in our church in many ways. Some of the activities include an Easter egg hunt, summer carnival, and Christmas play.

M.O.M. (Methodists on a Mission: Puppet Ministry)

M.O.M. is a vital and active ministry that reaches out to the community. Their goal is to share with others the love God has for them through the medium of puppets and creative ministry. Everyone in 4th Grade through adult is invited. To learn more, check out their website.

Safe Sanctuaries

Security Matters. We take the safety of your children seriously and have taken precautions by following the Safe Sanctuaries Policy. This policy requires all volunteers complete the Safe Sanctuaries training, have a thorough background check, and abide by the policies and procedures set by the church. In addition, responsible adults are required to sign in and sign out children nursery age through sixth grade.

Summer Camp

St. James supports Camp Fontanelle, an United Methodist camp located north of Ferment, Nebraska. Bible studies, horse riding, games, crafts, laser tag, songs, tree climbing, swimming, field trips, and more happen throughout the summer in various camps for all age levels.
