The old iron bell of our church has been ringing in our "vale" for almost 160 years. It has called God's own people home to congregate, celebrate, worship, receive the sacraments and faithfully serve. It started ringing in the spring of 1844 on Sun Street in the old town of Bayou Sara, when the church was established as "The Methodist Episcopal Church, South".
If you listen closely to the bell's sweet sound today, you just might hear echoes from the past. Over the years countless numbers have responded to the echo of the old church bell, answering a Saviour's call of salvation and witnessing to the power and might of a faithful God who loves His people.
