STEPHENSBURG
UNITED METHODIST
CHURCH
6/5/07
On
June 5, 2007 the Trustees meeting was held. In attendants were:
Willie Nichols, Dana Sprinkle, Nelson Burnet, Larry Goodman, Don
Sexton, Gary & Dian Stillwell, and Tena Gore.
This
meeting was called to discuss about removing of the stumps and about
the rain water
that is going towards the church and into the basement.
Tena
called the meeting to order and turned the floor over to Larry
Goodman, who, had talked to his friend Dull Peterson about the
drainage problem and the stumps. Dull said that he would come and
remove the stumps and level out the backyard of the church for the
sum of $3,000.00. Dull also said that if some of the men would help
that he could reduce the price. Nelson Burnet and Larry Goodman are
going to help with this project.
The
members then went outside to look at the backyard and Larry explained
what work that is going to be done. Stumps will be removed, the
backyard will be leveled out then the rain water will no longer be
going towards the church basement. A motion was brought before the
Trustees and was pasted. In conclusion, this project would increase
parking with extra dirt, the draining of the rain water, and future
development of the church.
The
Trustees are going to address the ADD Board Sunday, June 10, 2007
about this project.
It
was also discussed about moving of the electricity pole. A man with
KU came out to the church and talked to Don about moving the pole.
The gentleman said that to move the pole it would cost $1,000.00 -
$1,500.00. It was discussed that we could probably get this done
cheaper. Larry is going to talk to Joe Yates to see if he may be able
to do it cheaper. This project was tabled until a later date.
The
next order of business was cleaning of the pews. Summit had theirs
cleaned and it cost $12.50 each pew. The cost for our pews would be
$375.50. The Trustees decided that this was something that needed to
be done. This will also be brought be for ADD Board.
Last
order of business was the painting of the basement. Tena Gore is
going to supply the paint and supplies. The UNYF is going to do the
painting. This will be done sometime before school starts back. For
right now it will only be the base coat.
