My pride and joy is my 16 year old son, Samuel. He will be a junior this year at Waynesboro High School and is learning to drive.
I graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton. Then I went to James Madison University for one year until financial reasons made it impossible for me to continue. After working for a year I went to and graduated from Elizabeth Brant’s School of Business as a Legal Secretary. I worked for a year at Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church and began working at the Staunton District Office on September 22, 1980.

I grew up in a Christian home, but didn’t truly accept Christ as Savior until I was 17. It occurred at a revival at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church when Rev. Charles Harless gave an alter call. God was calling me. My relationship to Christ has grown stronger everyday. I have gone through many trials in my life and realize that God has been my strength through it all. He has also used many experiences to mold me and make me into a better Christian. I still have far to go to perfection. I believe in the United Methodist Church and their belief in open hearts, open minds, open doors. For God took a sinner, me, and is molding a new creation. As Christ fellowshipped with the sinners of his day and brought them into his fold, we are called to fellowship with all to bring them into the fold. I pray that through my job I can help the clergy and laity of the Staunton District in some minuscule way to reach people—family, congregations and communities—to bring them into the fold.
