Pastor Mick

Pastor Mick was born and raised in Trout Run, a small town north of Williamsport, Pa. He is the oldest of three sons. After graduating from Williamsport Area High School, Pastor Mick earned a Bachelors Degree in Professional Photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He returned to Trout Run and raised a family while working full-time in the prep department of a Williamsport printing company, and taking freelance photography jobs as they came by.

Pastor Mick

Pastor Mick is the proud parent of Drew, who is a communications major at Geneva Collage in Beaver Falls, Pa., and Tori, who is a personal caretaker for Hope Enterprises in Williamsport. He enjoys outdoor sports and activities, watching a good movie, and spending time with his family.

Although pastoral ministry is a second career, Pastor Mick has been involved in various ways in the ministries of his home church, Trout Run United Methodist Church, since he was a teenager. He recognized God's calling in the fall of 2001.

“All my life I was looking for my burning bush. As a teenager, many people in my church said I would be a good minister. I thought that was just their opinion; I wasn't hearing anything from God. After the break up of my marriage, on the advice of my pastor, I dropped all the positions I held in the church; I needed the church more than it needed me. In the healing process, I became more aware of how God was working in my life and how God spoke to me. After the divorce was final, I began to experience a number of events and thoughts that all made me ask, 'Am I being called to ordained ministry?' I went to visit my friend and former pastor to talk to him about it. In our visit, the subject never came up, and on the way home I thought, 'That's ok, I know what the answer is. I'm to be a minister.' So my burning bush turned out to be a bunch of burning twigs.”

Pastor Mick moved to Dayton, Ohio and attended United Theological Seminary. He graduated in May 2008 with a Master of Divinity degree with a specialization in Digital Cultures Ministry. While attending UTS, Pastor Mick served on the media team at Ginghamsburg Church, Tipp City, Ohio, and as a student associate pastor at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Huber Heights, Ohio. His appointment to State Line UMC is his first full-time appointment.

“I look forward to serving the people of the State Line community. I have seen God do many wonderful and wonder-filled things in all the churches I've been associated with and expect same here.”
