Greetings From Our New Pastor at
St. Andrew's United Methodist Church.

Dear Members and Friends,

We often think of a new day as a point of new beginnings. However, we know that new beginnings are available all the time. Life itself provides constant opportunities to grow, and to grow is to become new. The question we, as Christians, are always facing is, “What is God calling you and I to begin anew today? ” I ask that you reflect for a moment about those areas in your life where new life is waiting to be born.

There are always opportunities for a new beginning in our relationship with God. Because God is infinite, unlimited possibility for growth and starting anew exists. No matter how intimate the companionship we share with Jesus Christ today, there is always more room for growth and new beginnings.

Our relationships with others can have the same range or depth of opportunity for growth, there is always room for fresh beginnings with family, friends, colleagues, coworkers, neighbors, a pastor and even those strangers who serve us day by day at the store, gas station and restaurant. What slight or radical change is God calling you and I to make in relationship with those persons who cross our life path every day?

This summer has brought a lot of change in our lives as a church family. Your faithful servant leader, Rev. Dr. Glenn Ferguson has been reappointed to serve another church family. We thank God for his dedication and service over the past two years and pray Dr. Ferguson and his family God's blessings. But with every change comes the opportunity for a new beginning, for new growth and fresh possibilities. I have been given the awesome privilege to serve as your Senior Pastor by Bishop Devadhar.

God has called us as a church to begin anew in many ways and while we grieve the loss of Pastor Glenn's leadership, we know and trust that God is always doing a new thing. The Prophet Isaiah reminds us of God's call: “I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19) What slight or radical change is God calling you…me…our church here at St. Andrew's UMC to make in relationship with those persons who cross our life path? I cannot wait to meet each and every one of you personally, be it in one of the small group meetings being planned for the summer, in your home or in the church hall. I know that our life together will offer me unlimited possibility for growth and I trust that Spirit-led new beginnings for us as a church will be born. What slight or radical change is God calling us to make in our relationships?
Let's all begin this summer looking for the unlimited possibility for growth and new beginnings that God has placed before us,
“I am about to do a new thing…now it springs forth…
