FIVE PRACTICES OF FRUITFUL CONGREGATIONS
Beginning today through November 9th each worship service message will focus upon one of the “Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations,” which are essential to our health, vitality, and fruitfulness. We have ordered a wonderful companion guide to this series, “Cultivating Fruitfulness: Five Weeks of Prayer and Practice for Congregation.” This is a daily devotional for all to follow along as we delve into what it means to be a “Fruitful Congregation” here at St. Andrew's. There are copies in the narthex today, or you can see Meredith, in the office during the week, 429-4469, for a copy and the cost will be $5.60. May the Lord bless us all deeply with new insight, hope for tomorrow and joy for our life together in Christ

PRACTICE RADICAL HOSPITALITY
Be a greeter on Sunday mornings. The greeters stand at the front door and welcome everyone to St. Andrew's. Sound like something you can do? There is a sign up sheet on the kiosk, and only a few Sundays left this year. Hurry and sign up before all the opportunities are gone.

FALL CHURCH CLEANUP DAY OCT. 25th

THE 20TH ANNUAL URBAN PROMISE BANQUET
will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23 at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, Collingswood. The cost is $25 per person. The speaker will be Tony Campolo. We have two tables reserved, but they are going fast. Please contact John Exley, 429-3624, as soon as possible if you would like to attend

CHRISTMAS WREATHS
Advent is coming! This month the Stewardship Committee is selling a variety of fresh, hand-crafted evergreens for delivery by Thanksgiving. Order all of your fresh holiday evergreens at the poster in the narthex. Proceeds go to the General Fund to support facility upgrades.

CHRISTMAS MUSIC
Special music throughout the year, especially at Christmas, is provided in large part by The Friends of Music Fund. Without your generous contributions to this fund, Christmas music would be greatly diminished. The fund urgently needs replenishing. Please make your check payable to St. Andrew's Church and note Friends of Music in the memo portion of your check. <

ST. ANDREW'S AUXILIARY FOR COLLINGSWOOD MANOR
is accepting annual dues of $5.00 at this time. Your support may be given to Marge Zimmerman in the narthex after Sunday services. Thank you for being a part of this mission.

NEW SUPPER CLUBS NOW! - What Is It, Anyway? Supper Club is a loose-knit group whose sole purpose is to enjoy each other's company over good food. Each group decides when and where they will meet. We usually take turns hosting meals and everyone else brings a dish. You don't have to host at home. We've eaten at restaurants, at the church, or in the park. You decide! We recommend that all groups meet every month even if just for a quick cup of coffee. The idea is to get to know new people and to enjoy Christian fellowship. This is not a couples club. Singles are always welcome and do participate regularly. We'd love you to be part of our group. Don't forget, we have a “Dine-Out Only” group, too!
New suggestions are always welcome. How about a mid-week lunch group, a morning coffee klatch, or early bird special? Check out the sign-up and see what fits.
Groups are forming now. Just talk to Bernadette Exley or sign up on the sheet in the narthex. Can't make it all the time? Be a Sub! “Hey, ya gotta eat! Why not eat with friends?”

UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief
is responding to the four successive catastrophic storms that tore through Haiti in less than a month. Hundreds of deaths and extensive flooding have been reported and thousands of homes and livelihoods have been destroyed. In a country with limited resources and widespread poverty, more than 650,000 people are left especially vulnerable because of the storms.
Your generosity is needed to help the people of Haiti gain stability and rebuild their lives following these devastating storms. Please give to Haiti Emergency, UMCOR Advance #418325 and help UMCOR fully respond to people in Haiti and elsewhere whose lives have been affected by intense storms.
While the Gulf Coast recovers from Gustav and Fay, it braces now for Ike. UMCOR needs your help to ensure that the UMCOR Sager Brown supply depot (in Louisiana) is fully stocked to respond. Congregations and individuals are urged to send a contribution to purchase supplies. To support the recovery efforts with a financial contribution, please give to UMCOR Advance #3019695, Hurricanes 2008.
