Statement of Purpose
We, the children of God, who are bound together by God's
love into a Christian Fellowship called the Stamford/Harpersfield United
Methodist Church, accept the Bible as our guide and authority for spreading to
all people the Good News of God's love, made known in the life, death and
resurrection of His Son, Our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Our power comes form God through the Holy Spirit, who enables
us to love, strengthen, pray for, and uphold one another, to use our time, our
talents, our gifts, and our service to glory of God; and to minister to the
physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people near and far. Amen
