WHAT WE OFFER
Welcome to Spurgeon United Methodist Church. Our mission as Christians is very simple: to know, and be known by Jesus, to grow in our relationship with Him and to go out to do His work and tell others about His love. Just remember : KNOW—GROW—GO!
If you are interested in getting to KNOW Jesus Christ, let me point you to the most important resource, the Bible. Read the Gospel of John (Especially John 3:16). If you would like some direction in your reading there are three small (Cluster) groups which meet weekly to pray together read a small portion of scripture and discuss it. We also have Sunday morning Bible studies for Adults (Our Children’s Church program offers guided study for children ages 3-12). There are also some wonderful individuals who would be willing to meet with you one-on-one to encourage you on your journey.
Perhaps you are ready to GROW in faith (see 2 Peter 3:18). The Cluster groups are a way to nurture your relationship with Jesus and develop some friendships with other Christians. Attending Sunday morning worship and Bible Study will feed your spirit so that you are ready to face each week.
Once you KNOW Jesus and He knows you, by the power of the Holy Spirit you will GROW in your relationship with Him as you study scripture, worship, and fellowship with others in Christ. Then comes a time when you are to GO for Jesus and help multiply the Kingdom of God even as you continue to worship, fellowship, and grow yourself (See Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15).
