THE SPURGEON OUTLOOK -- SUMMER, 2008

POTPOURRI PAGE -- PART DEUX

ADOPT-A- HOMEBOUND “GRANDPARENT”
Homebound “Grandparents” are Spurgeon church members who are no longer able to come to church services on Sundays. Our Faith Community Nurse, Sandi Ashbaugh, will be visiting these folks on a regular basis, but she needs our support. She would like some volunteers to adopt one of these homebound “grandparents” and call them once a week. If you would like, you could send them a card that says you are thinking about them and praying for them.
Call the church office, 542-3551, for a list of available homebound “Grandparents”, or if you have questions.

You Hold the Future of Spurgeon UMC In Your Hands

The Finance and other committees have been thoughtfully and prayerfully trying to find a way to keep our church going despite our financial shortfall. When you give your monthly tithe or offering to the church, we ask that you keep in mind that it is only with your support that Spurgeon can keep it’s doors open, as well as keeping our dedicated staff members who have worked hard to provide our church’s ministries. Please pray for God’s guidance as you give your financial gifts this year.

We also want to remind you to bring your friends and family to church! We have many special events throughout the year that provide opportunities for bringing people in our church family and our surrounding community together in friendly, fulfilling, God-centered fellowship. As we all know, this is truly needed in our world right now. So, please consider inviting your neighbors, friends, and family members to join you for a special event or a Sunday morning worship service. You'll be glad you did!
