Is This Your Gift?
Volunteers read the scripture and serve as the worship assistants at each of our Sunday services. I am sure there are some of you who might like to serve in this way who have not been approached.
Please contact me either by phone (714-742-5682) or email (wizteach@yahoo.com) if you are interested. Scripture Readers are emailed the scripture in advance of the service. Worship Assistants lead the Call to Worship and either give the Congregational Prayer or the Offertory Prayer.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN UPDATE...by Judy Cobb
Our capital campaign is moving along successfully. Some pertinent information:
- Total pledges: $361,565.25
- Amount received from 9/27/09 — 10/25/09= $1,450.00
We appreciate your prayers and your financial contributions. It has been a blessing to see your commitment to the revitalization of the church facility, which supports the mission of Spurgeon UMC to "Know-Grow-and Go" in the name of Jesus Christ now and for the next 50 years.
The Building Committee has been on sabbatical while the financial campaign was underway and for a time to allow for some of the funds to be collected, but will be meeting again soon to work on the next steps in the project.
