    Parking Lot Repairs
Have you noticed the smooth exit from the church parking lot? This was a "freebee," courtesy of Excel Paving Co., in exchange for us allowing them to temporarily park some of their equipment in our lot. They were in the neighborhood, resurfacing some of the streets in Morrison Park, under contract with the city of Santa Ana.
Also, Pastor Ignacio (Mission Evangelica Libertad) has patched the latest bee removal holes in the upper wall. He (or his congregation) also repainted the red curb markings next to the parking lot.
In addition to Room 12, Rooms 4 and 5 are being refinished by a Girl Scout, Katie Klienschmidt, for her Gold Award Project.
Praise be to God for giving us these great people.

    DID YOU KNOW???

    1. The Giraffe has the highest blood pressure of any animal and it is three times higher than that of humans.
    2. It would take 1,200,000 mosquitoes, each sucking at once, to completely drain the average human of blood.
    3. People who live at an altitude of 10,000 feet have about 30% more red cells in their blood than people that live at sea level.
    4. In 1941, Dr. Charles Drew became the first Medical Director of the first American Red Cross blood bank in the United States.
    5. "Red Eye" in photographs taken with a flash is caused by light bouncing off the tiny blood vessels in the back in the eye ball.
    6. Once a mosquito is full, a chemical signal shuts down the intake. When that signal is disabled in the laboratory, the mosquitoes will suck the blood until they explode.
    7) The first leech was used in medicine around 1000 B.C. in ancient India. (This process has been used as recently as in the 1990's to clean severe wounds.)
    8) The diameter of the aorta, the largest artery in our body, is about the same as that of a garden hose.
    9) Mosquitoes have heat sensors to "see" where your capillaries are by the heat of the blood inside them. As a result they know just the right spot to jab you.
    10) The Texas horned lizard squirts blood from its eyes when it is angry. This blood contains toxins which irritate on contact. (UGGH)
