FACILITY USE GUIDELINES AND FEE SCHEDULE

Family Life Center/Kitchen/Nave/Classrooms

The St. Paul United Methodist Church welcomes you to our facility here on St. Paul hill. We are a Christian Church who welcomes people in Christ’s name. God has given us a remarkable and beautiful church complex, and it is our desire to share God’s gifts responsibly in our Chambersburg community.

1. Facility Use by Members:

We encourage our church members to make good use of the facility. There will be a charge for any activity not approved under our mission statement. (The mission of St. Paul United Methodist Church is to tell the story of Jesus, to do the work of Jesus, and to be the body of Jesus.).

2. Facility Use for Non-Profit Groups:

We have an open policy towards non-profit organizations, such as scouting groups, Christian youth clubs, A.A. & Al-Anon and other non-profit community organizations. These groups will be expected to meet the fee schedule as established by the Board of Trustees unless the Trustees waive the fee. We require there be appropriate adult supervision as stated in our Safe Sanctuary Policy handbook. This handbook is available in the church office. We expect the areas used will be cleaned and properly cared for. Users will be responsible for any lost or damaged equipment. To schedule a room for use, please call the church office at 267-3085. Please note that a non-profit organization is one that carries IRS code 501C-3 and proper insurances.

3. Facility Use for Individuals, Families and Private Parties:

We welcome individuals, families and other private parties to use our facility. We require there be appropriate adult supervision as stated in our Safe Sanctuary Policy handbook. This handbook is available in the church office. We expect the areas used will be cleaned and properly cared for. Users will be responsible for any lost or damaged equipment If the kitchen facility is needed, those renting the facility must meet with one of the staff prior to the scheduled date to arrange for use of the necessary equipment. Separate arrangements must be made for the use of the sound system and a fee may apply. To schedule a room for use, please call the church office at 267-3085. The Trustee Committee reserves the right to grant or deny approval to any party.

4. Funerals:

All funerals must be arranged with the pastor. No fees apply to funeral services conducted at St. Paul for a deceased member or their family member who has died. We request that an honorarium of $100.00 be given to the church organist. The Family Life Center can be set up for a reception following the service. The family must provide the food, table service, and servers. Therefore we recommend the use of a caterer. A donation is appreciated for the use of the Family Life Center.

5. Weddings:

Please ask for the Wedding Guidelines available in the office. The pastor must approve all weddings. We reserve the right to restrict the use of the facility at any time and especially during the Christmas Season and Eastertide.

When custodial services are required, a separate charge equal to 25% of the usage fee will apply.

We do expect that each group will leave the facility clean and ready for use by the next group.

General Guidelines for

Facility Use

~ Members of any organization using these facilities assume all

responsibility for breakage, the appropriate use of the facilities, and proper cleaning of the facilities.

~ Do not use nails, tacks, or cellophane tape to fasten temporary decorations posters, etc. to walls, woodwork, or windows. Use masking tape only.

~ Smoking is not allowed in the church building or on the grounds.

~ Illegal drugs and alcoholic beverages are not permitted in or on church property.

~ The person(s) in charge of the activity is/are responsible for completing an Event Request Form (necessary for all events) and provide a copy of proof of insurance and a 501C if applicable. These need to be in the church office three weeks prior to the event. A 50% deposit is expected with the reservation unless other arrangements are made.
