SPUMC MUSIC
Summer Choir -- 2005
Singers of all ages are invited to participate in
the Chancel Choir this summer, singing familiar hymns and
choruses. Just a quick rehearsal at 10:40 each Sunday morning
before worship.
Adult Choir
The Adult Choir of the Spruce Pine United Methodist Church gathers each Sunday morning at 10:45 am to robe up and see to last minute details and pray before the 11:00 am service begins. When the organ starts playing, then the choir knows that it's time to file out of the choir room behind the sanctuary, and into the choir loft....basses first, then tenors, then altos, then sopranos. We are blessed with musicians, music teachers, and joyful singers who consider it their job to be worship leaders on Sunday morning. Practice is 7-8 PM on Wednesday night. Many choirs won't let you sing on Sunday morning if you haven't been to practice the Wednesday before, but choir director, Kathey Hollifield, had to institute a reverse policy. If you weren't there on Sunday morning, then you can't come and have fun on Wednesday night! We always end our rehearsal with prayer concerns and praises, and are blessed to share them with each other.
