Honduras Mission  Thurs, Feb 21, 2008

Our lunar eclipse was MAGNIFICENT.  100% clear sky.

Stitches out today.  Our RN, Robyn, did it by flash light.

With our VHF radio and repeater system we can talk between our villages: Auka, Uhi, PLP, Ahuas, Kruta River any time of the day!  HF short wave communications has been nearly useless -- poor propagation, and nothing to say.  We do it all via Winlink e-mail!  We spend all our voice time talking about how to make the contact work around the propagation.

We haven't used or tested the spring water.  Ground wells are closer, and we have good water filters.  No sediment in the water, so easy to filter.

Thurs morning I prayer walked with Sonya from Montreal, our pharmacist.  She really enjoyed it.  I raised up our team members by name and the villagers as we walked, then showed her the things I had found and seen on previous prayer walks.  We leave before most team members are up.  I had to wake up Sonya  -- she was glad to get up.

This is the preamble sent from the Winlink e-mail station on Grand Cayman Island.

Safe in Jehovah's Keeping, Safe in temptation's hour,
Safe in the midst of perils kept by Almighty power,
Safe when the tempest rages, Safe though the night be long:
E'en when my sky is darkest God is my strength and song.
                 Sir Robert Anderson

Thurs we have two very sick babies, 1 mo and 12 mo.  The older one has several problems including breathing, weak, won't eat.  Robyn, our nurse, explains that babies persist and persist, then they turn on a dime, give up and die.  This one may be only 1-2 days from the dime.  Hard to tell.   We're trying to get a plane back here this afternoon--waiting to reach Jarle.
Both kids would be transported.

I'm filtering water;  seems to be no problem.  We can release some empty water jugs to return to PLP.
