Honduras 2007 Update
Tuesday, Feb 27

Alice began the morning with a nature study.   The compound is nicely landscaped.

We are preparing for the return of the village teams on Wednesday.   Two planes from Ahuas are planning to begin flying at 7:00 AM, making about 4-5 flights per village.  The river team will begin their voyage at dawn.  We'll be all together for Wed evening, then all evacuate on Thursday.

We made it a point to visit the facility where the 'starch babies' were taken.   It is called 'House of Hope', and started in Roger and Katrina's home several years ago.  They take in handicapped, and hair-lip children to take them through
restorative procedures.  Most surgery is done in Teguc.  They are supported by a Dentist in TX, and by other organizations including the Methodist Church.   They have a few permanent residents, but they hold most space for transient patients.  They focus on the Miskito children.
