UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
To Pictures - UMW Martha Circle - Mar., 2003 - plus others - Including May 2003 - Noah's Dog Ministry
UMW PURPOSE
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
MEETINGS
The South Gate United Methodist Women unit meetings are held the second Thursday of February, May, September, and November at 7:00 p.m. and December at 6:30 p.m.
Small group meetings:
Martha Circle meets the first Monday (except July and December) at 7:30 p.m.;
Searchers Circle meets the second Wednesday of each month at 1:15 p.m.
Sojourners Circle meets the first Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m.
Above meetings are held at the South Gate United Methodist Church, 3500 Pioneers Blvd., Lincoln, Nebraska.
All women are invited to attend and to join
United Methodist Women.
MISSION
Areas of giving by the South Gate United Methodist
Women include:
Church Women United
Nebraska Wesleyan University Scholarship Fund
The Unit gives in all seven channels of undesignated giving.
CONNECTIONAL
The women are active at the unit, district, and conference levels through spiritual retreats, School of Christian Missions, annual meetings, and Assembly.

May, 2003 Mike Renner, a United Methodist 10 10 10 Missioner presented a program on Noah's Dog Ministry. He brought one of his dogs and spoke about the program of training helping dogs for folks who are handicapped. |

THE UNITED METHODIST WOMEN SUNDAY PRESENTATION
"Women of the Bible -- Changing History with God"
March 11, 2001
The presentation is a combination of the stores of four Old Testament women: Miriam, Hagar, Deborah and Esther. They mime the reading of the scriptures by others. The reading of the stories of the Marys in the New Testament was done with some of the scriptures overlapping one another. Suzanne Harris closed with the solo "Mary, Don't You Weep".
