Ground Breaking Program Cover July 21, 1963

The Breaking Of The Ground

The Invocation:   Donald C. Miller

The Ascription of Praise Unison

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

Before the mountains were brought forth or ever thou hadst

formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to

everlasting, thou art God. Amen

A Hymn: "0 God, Our Help in Ages Past" Watts

0 God, our help in ages past- our hope for years to come

Our shelter from the stormy blast and our eternal home '

Under the shadow of Thy throne, thy saints have dwelt secure;

Sufficient is Thine arm along, and our defense is sure ·

Before the hills in order stood, or earth received her frame,

From everlasting Thou art God to endless years the S ame.

A thousand ages in Thy sight are like an evening gone

Short as the watch that ends the night before the rising sun.

Time, like an ever rolling stream, bears all its sons away

Thy fly forgotten as a dream dies at the opening day.

0 God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come

Be Thou our guard while life shall last and our eternal home.

The Scripture: Dr. John F. Wichelt

The Prayer Dr. D. R. Roker

]he Responsive Reading

The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof the

world and they that dwell therein.

For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established

it upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of

the Lord? and who shall stand in his holy place?

A Hymn: "Lead On 0 King Eternal" Shurtleff

Lead on 0 King Eternal, the day of march has come

Henceforth in fields of conquest thy tents shall be our home

Through days of preparation thy grace has made us strong

And now 0 King Eternal, we lift our battle song.

Lead on 0 King Eternal till sin's fierce war shall cease,

And holiness shall whisper the sweet amen of peace

For not with swords loud clashing nor roll of stirring drums;

With deeds of love and mercy, thy heavenly kingdom comes.

Lead on 0 King Eternal, we follow not with fears

For gladness breaks like morning where'er thy face appears

Thy cross is lifted over us; we journey in its light

The crown awaits the conquest lead on, 0 God of

might." Amen
