This year our Christian Education program is 6-fold: Adult Sunday School, Nursery, Primary Sunday School, Jr. High Sunday School, Sr. High Sunday School, and a small group study on the book of Romans. Adult Sunday School meets in Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Under the leadership of Bob Harvey, this group chooses the topics they will study and dig into the Bible, while enjoying a cup of coffee.
Nursery care is provided by Paul with the assistance of Katie. This nurturing staff can be found in the first floor Nursery during the morning worship service.
The "Live Big" curriculum from Abingdon Press guides the Primary-Intermediate Age Sunday School lessons. Led by Mary Ann the children learn that 1. God is a great BIG God! 2. God loves us with a great BIG love! and 3. We are a part of God 's great BIG world! Walk into their room and you will see evidence of their learnings!!!
The Junior High group, led by Sandy and Sue, use the "Live Big" for Tweens. These 3-part lessons include "Invite them in" - activities to introduce tweens to the Bible story, "Into the Bible" - activities to immerse the tweens in the Bible story, and "Into Life" - activities to connect the tweens' lives to the Bible story. In addition to the study and activities, the tweens enjoy a correlating DVD presentation weekly.
The Senior High class is being led by Walter Kastrup and Tony Carbone. Using DVD's and group discussion from Veracity, the teenagers engage in lively dialogue. They meet upstairs in the Senior High room from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. each Sunday morning.
On Monday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. a small group Bible study called "Growing Strong in God's Family" is held in Fellowship Hall. A second small group study called "Bible 101" is held at the Hall's home on Friday evenings. This group begins with a dish to share dinner and then starts their study - a very basic study of the Bible. Call the church office (315-483-9718) for further information.
