| Butch's Team: Retha's Rescuers | ||||||||
| Team Members: Butch, Cheri, Marcia, Sara, Nathan, Diane, Jen and Kelli | ||||||||
| We put the floor in the kitchen today and started the main room. We also put the cabinets in so that Retha will have her sink and work space. We were also surprised with a homemade sweet potato pie and a thank you note. Our homeowner is very pleased with what we have done and I am very pleased with the effort of my team because they have accomplished much without their leader there all the time. A neighbor stopped by and asked if we needed anything - we told him a 2x4. He soon returned with one 2x4 for us. He also said that Retha had been trying very hard to keep her property in shape and the she was very blessed to have us there. | ||||||||

| George and JT's Team: JT and the Gnarly Kneelers | ||||||||
| Team Members: JT, George, Linda, Janet, Hazel and Sandy | ||||||||
|
(George): Great day - someone provided us with enough material -
off and running! (Linda): We're finished already! Now we've fotta find something to do tomorrow... It was a really neat experience, and J.T. is a great teacher! But he forgot to show us how to do transition strips - hmmmm- maybe that's what we should do tomorrow! (Janet): A beautiful day to sit outside in the sun for lunch break. Hard to believe we actually laid all that floor in 4 days. God has been good to us! Rick sure will be happy to see there was enough flooring to finish the job. (Hazel): We really had a good day today! (Sandy): What a team ... everyone has found their "nitch" and our group works like clockwork! 8 rooms to floor and we're done with everything except the transition strips ... WOW! |

| Al's Team: "Mudders and Fodders" | ||||||||
| Team Members: Al, Lynn, Jim, Diane, Joyce | ||||||||
| When Al measured to finish sheet rocking above the tubs, he discovered that they were not level because of the old ceramic tile under one edge; so Lynn started the day on his knees breaking out and removing pieces of tile. This didn't solve the whole problem, but we're better off than we were. We're a little closer to being done with the mudding. Al signed off on the living room and master bedroom. They are all sanded and ready for texturing. Because of the rain, a lot of the "mud" we put on yesterday wasn't dry. To provide more drying time, we took a long lunch with a trip to Wal-Mart and Sonic. Here is a picture of our friend the emu that greets us every day on the way to our work site. | ||||||||

Camp Hope: What an awesome place! Camp Hope not only gives hope to area homeowners, but instills a spirit of God-inspired love and caring in those who come to volunteer and serve. The caring dedication of the Camp Hope staff permeates the air. We are so grateful to Pastor Robbie, Lois, Curt, Sally, Marie, Marie, and ALL the local volunteers who prepare food, wash laundry, etc. for making our week so very special! THANK YOU!!! and God bless you each and every one! It will be hard to say goodbye on Saturday!!! |
