Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Each year, as summer comes to a close and the school year starts back up again,
we at Smiley UMC finalize plans for Kids of the Kingdom.
As in previous years, our schedule will be posted in various locations around
town, as well as sent to the parents or guardians of the previous year's participants. Our fall session meet on
Wednesdays after school until 5:00 PM for the months of September, October, and for the first two Wednesdays of
November. After the Christmas holiday, we will start back up in January, and our program will run through April.
We are excited about the school year beginning and getting to spend Wednesday
afternoons with your children. We plan to continue the basic format that we have had for the Kids of the Kingdom
program which includes time for story telling, music, play, a snack, and crafts. As always, quality time learning
about Jesus Christ and His awesome love is our number one priority!
In order for Kids of the Kingdom to be safe and effective for your children,
we need your cooperation. We are asking you to complete and erollment forum available from teh chruch office which
includes valuable information such as phone numbers and who can pick up your child. Please complete the
form and return it to us at Smiley U.M.C. - Kids of the Kingdom P.0. Box 98 Smiley, TX 78159 by August 17th.
Currently, we have facilities and adult volunteers available to be able to
provide a wonderful experience for about 20 children, so if you are interested, please get your enrollment in as
soon as posible.
In addition, we are asking you or your child to notify the church office prior
to inviting a friend to Kids of the Kingdom. We know we are reaching many children with Christ's message of love,
but we need to ensure your child's safety by having an adequate number of adult workers. Because of the joy these
children bring, we know there are those of you that would be perfect volunteers for this after school program.
