Program Committees

Skyway offers many excellent opportunities to become acquainted with other church members and to offer service within the congregation and in the community.  You may wish to serve on a committee which assists in setting policies and planning activities in a particular area of church life, or you may wish to join an activities group for service and companionship.

Christian Education
Plans education programs for children, adults and youth, and sponsors several annual special events for the entire congregation.

Membership and Evangelism
Responsible for the greeter program, follow-up and coffee hour.  Welcomes newcomers and hosts new member luncheons.

Mission/Outreach
Informs and helps the congregation respond to world-wide mission issues such as hunger, medical care, refugee resettlement, and the needs of individual UMC missionaries.  Promotes awareness and actions on contemporary social issues.

Stewardship
Encourages members of the congregation to be good stewards of their time, talents and financial resources.  Suggest directions for church finance campaigns.

Worship
Works with the pastor in planning the worship life of the congregation.  Responsibilities include arranging for ushers, communion stewards, acolytes and liturgists, maintaining the sanctuary and sound system, and planning special services.
