Our dynamic leader this year is Rev. Charlotte Bear, pastor of Cambrian Park United Methodist Church in San Jose. Her ministry style is passionate, heartfelt, and engaging. Come join us as we share our stories and take this journey together. Additional details, including flyer/registration form and scholarships, will be available here soon. Legislative Event
"Out of Bondage"
Monday, March 22, 9am to 2:30pm, Sacramento First United Methodist Church, 2100 "J" Street, Sacramento.
The focus of this year's California-Nevada Conference UMW Legislative Event is Human Trafficking. The guest speaker is Rhodida Khan, Department of Homeland Security. Other Spotlight Topics are Healthcare, Immigration, and Chlorine Free Paper. See the flyer for information and registration. A scholarship, the Virginia Bogard Memorial Social Justice Grant, is available on a first-come basis. Registration deadline is March 15, 2010.

Legislative visits can be set for 1:30pm or later. Please make an appointment to meet with your your State Senator and Assembly member.
2010 UMW Assembly April 29 - May 3, 2010
"Faith. Hope. Love in Action." The 2010 UMW Assembly in St. Louis, MO marks the 18th quadrennial (every-four-years) meeting of the United Methodist Women, where they join together to celebrate, to lift up, to learn, and to return to their communities better equipped for mission. Registration is $250 (paper registration or online). Get more information, including registration and scholarship applications, here.
