Resources for Peace
At the Jan/Feb 2007 District Leadership Events we were blessed to have youth from Cambrian Park UMC talking about peace and leading us in activities we could do with our local units. Click here for the "Litany of Peace" and the "Congregation Pledge of Nonviolence" they shared with us. Also check out the Institute for Peace and Justice, who provided the Pledge.

UMW Green Team
"The Green Team's advocacy goal is to realize environmental justice," explained Sung-Ok Lee, executive secretary for community action for the Women's Division and coordinator of the program. "Environmental justice is the fair treatment and involvement of all people -- regardless of race, ethnicity or economic status -- in the decision-making process on environmental public policies." (from "United Methodist Women kicks off Green Team Environmental Justice Program" by Kelly Martini). Lupita Diaz from the San Jose District is our local representative to this team. See Green Team resources here.
