Disaster/Emergency Response
California-Nevada Annual Conference
The United Methodist Church

                 To report an emergency, to request help in an emergency, to check on the status of an emergency and the United Methodist involvement in an emergency effecting the California-Nevada Annual Conference, persons are directed to contact the office of UMVIM Coordination at: (916) 374-1582 (office) or (916) 803-4424 (cell) or UMVIM@calnevumc.org

                  In the event of a disaster such as an earthquake, fire, flood, military invasion, terrorist activity, etc threatening the stability of the area of the California-Nevada Annual Conference, the UMVIM Coordinator will make way to the Conference Center Office, if at all possible, in an effort to keep the communications operable.  In the event that West Sacramento is involved in the disaster to the point where the Annual Conference office is not accessible, or safe to access, the Annual Conference center and base of emergency communication will shift to First United Methodist Church – Lodi (209-368-5357).

                 Disaster and Emergency Response is seen as a collaborative effort between the offices of Disaster Response, UMVIM, Emergency/Early Response, and in consultation with the Bishop and the Director of Connectional Ministry.

 Speakers Available for VIM Presentations

         Speakers are available through the local VIM chapter or from the Annual Conference. They can talk about resources for Mission projects and hand on projects. Contact Dave Wolf (408) 268-5806  or J.P. McGuire for more information.

Fund & Assistance Campaigns

Cell Phones
UMVIM, Western Jurisdiction is currently collecting used cell phones for a fund-raising campaign.  Cell phones, in any condition, can be sent to, or brought to, our Conference office to be sent on to the Western Jurisdiction office in Idaho.If you would like a tax letter for you contribution, be sure to identify yourself and address with each cell phone delivered.

Prescription pill bottles
Prescription pill bottles (plastic only) may be sent to, or brought to, our Conference office in Sacramento.  Please remove all labels. These will be taken with medical teams to Angola for use in distributing medications. All bottles must have working caps.
