Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ !

The worst attended Sunday of he year across this land is the Sunday after Christmas. Why? I have read many different folks speculating about this for years. Some say the people of God are just tied. The theory is that we exhaust ourselves in worship and service and just need a break. This could be true. I know several clergy folks who schedule "get away" time for the week after Christmas. The theory that I believe comes closest to the mark goes like this:  It is easy to feed good about the coming of Jesus as a baby. The claims of an adult Jesus on our lives are much more uncomfortable to deal with.

The call of the CHurch is to come back to the manager in December. The call is to remember Gods' love coming to us in the birth of Jesus. The joy of December is that we can renew our faith, love and commitment. But then . . . But then we must do as the shepherds in the field did; " . . . the shepherds wet back, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen . . ." Luke 2:20.  I hope that the singing of the choir, the reading of the Holy Bible, and the glorious times of prayer we have shared have renewed your spirit as it has mine. Now let us set our hearts to the task of personal holiness, and our hands to the work of serving each other and the world.
